Little Hour Glass




     Hello everyone out there in Crochet Land! I know it has been a very, very long time since I posted a new pattern  .  .  .  .  but life always manages to get in the way every now and again. Here's hoping the rest of the year will be a little less hectic; and filled with wonderful crochet patterns =>

     Everyone could use more time (especially me :P ); so I decided to make myself a Little Hour Glass. And the best part? . . . . it never runs out  =>




Supplies:
     5.00 mm crochet hook
     Soft White worsted weight yarn
     Hunter Green worsted weight yarn
     * colors based on Red Heart Super Saver Yarn
     stitch marker
     stuffing material
     scissors
     yarn needle

Notes:
     --- Be sure to move the stitch marker up as you complete each round.

Abbreviations Used:
     Rnd(s) --- round(s)
     ch --- chain
     sc --- single crochet
     st/sts --- stitch/stitches
     ftlp(s) --- front loop(s)
     sc2tog --- single-crochet 2 stitches together





~Pattern~

Hour Glass:
     Rnd 1: using the Soft White yarn, ch 2; 6sc in second ch from hook - 6sts
     Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around - 12sts
     Rnd 3: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next st; repeat to end - 18sts
     Rnd 4: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 2sts; repeat to end - 24sts
     Rnd 5: working in the ftlps only, 1sc in each ftlp around - 24sts
     Rnd 6: going through both loops, 1sc in each st around - 24sts
     Rnd 7: sc2tog, 1sc in next 2sts; repeat to end - 18sts
     Rnd 8 & 9: 1sc in each st around - 18sts
     Rnd 10: sc2tog, 1sc in next st; repeat to end - 12sts
     Rnd 11 & 12: 1sc in each st around - 12sts
     Rnd 13: sc2tog; repeat to end - 6sts
     Rnd 14: 1sc in each st around - 6sts
     Rnd 15: 2sc in each st around - 12sts
     Rnd 16 & 17: 1sc in each st around - 12sts
     Rnd 18: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next st; repeat to end - 18sts
     Begin firmly stuffing the piece.
     Rnd 19 & 20: 1sc in each st around - 1sc in each st around - 18sts
     Rnd 21: 2sc in frst st, 2sc in next st; repeat to end - 24sts
     Rnd 22: 1sc in each st around - 24sts
     Rnd 23: working in the ftlps only, 1sc in each ftlp around - 24sts
     Rnd 24: sc2tog, 1sc in next 2sts; repeat to end - 18sts
     Rnd 25: sc2tog, 1sc in next st; repeat to end - 12sts
     Rnd 26: sc2tog; repeat to end - 6sts
     Fasten off; leave a tail for sewing.
     Finish firmly stuffing the Hour Glass.
     Using the tail of yarn, sew the opening closed.
     Tie off and trim all loose threads.

Hour Glass Base (make 4):
     Rnd 1: using the Hunter Green yarn, ch 2; 6sc in second ch from hook - 6sts
     Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around - 12sts
     Rnd 3: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next st; repeat to end - 18sts
     Rnd 4: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 2sts; repeat to end - 24sts
     Rnd 5: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 3sts; repeat to end - 30sts
     Fasten off; repeat Rnds 1-5 three more times.
     Holding two finished circles together, sew along the outside edge to affix them together - 2 thick Bases created.

Assembly & Finishing:
     Place one Base on each end of the Hour Glass; sew in place.
     Tie off and trim all loose threads.

      I do not care if you sell the finished item you make at a craft fair, fundraiser, or just give it away as a gift; but please do give me credit for the pattern.
